- Only when Benjamin brings Kaeli along does the tree allow them to enter itself, where they must defeat the monsters inside. At the top of the tree's insides, they encounter and defeat the Gidrah. The tree rewards them by carrying them across the forest, allowing them to proceed to Windia.
- Just like it says, this is a giant tree with platforms and ropes going up. It's a scrolling level.
- Habitat of the elves of the Elf Empire. A giant tree was grown by the elves to protect them from the hostile environment of their territory. It is described as being "the size of a mountain", with leaves the size of a human body. The habitats are built on the tree branches and inside of it. In a time of danger the elves hide in the roots of the giant tree, in a secret room that is accessed by a tunnel inside the branches. Alex and Conner visit the Elf Empress Elvina at the tree in A Grimm Warning to ask for her army's help against the Grande Armée.
- This giant tree was once an ordinary sized tree, until it was exposed to Shamonite, which caused it to grow bigger.
- A giant tree is a variety of tree which is even larger than the rare and mysterious very large tree. The sages of Providence have long considered what force caused such trees to grow so large. So far, the best they've come up with is "a wizard did it".
- The Giant Tree is an interdimensional creature summoned from the World of Emptiness by the sorcerer Warlock. The Giant Tree's seeds were naturally teeming with powerful runic magic. Warlock was able to combine this powerful seed with the Eye Fish to create the powerful Rune Cannon. Seeds from the branches of the tree were used to their smaller and less potent power than the seeds from the tree itself. In 295, the Gaien Dukedom attacked the Kooluk Empire in the ill-fated Gaien-Kooluk War. Utterly vanquished at El-Eal Fortress, the Gaien forces were forced to retreat while Kooluk counter-attacked capturing the Gaien colony of Middleport. In Middleport, Kooluk discovered the Giant Tree and managed to subdue it, taking it to El-Eal. There, Kooluk began to engage in experiments which eventually resulted in the creation of El-Eal's giant Rune Canon while also securing Middleport's independence in order to increase their yield of shells. The capture of the Giant Tree paid off in 302 when the development of giant Rune Cannon shells and the giant cannon at El-Eal was finally complete, allowing Kooluk to easily destroy the island of Iluya. In 307, after the Island Liberation Navy victory at El-Eal and the defeat of Graham Cray, Cray used his own magic to provoke the Giant Tree to attack Lazlo and his party. Overcoming it's powerful magic and shifting elemental alignment, the tree was destroyed cutting off the source of all Rune Cannon ammunition. The destruction of the Giant Tree led to a short-lived arms race as nations and other groups such as pirates gathered all the Rune Cannons and ammunition possible. Some, including Dario, briefly regretted the destruction of the tree due to the shortage of usable parts. Please help us improve Suikoden Wikia by creating or editing any of our articles.
