Emirikol killed his mentor in a public duel, then summoned a steed of shadow and fled the city, killing all who opposed him with shadow and fire, an event that became legendary. Emirikol held a great fascination for elemental magic, and became the definitive voice on the subject in a debate over the nature and origin of Elemental magic originating with the Circle of Eight members Mordenkainen and Rigby. A lifetime of study of elemental magic led Emirikol to the conclusion that to wield pure elemental magic without another power source to help, one would have to become an elemental creature, sacrificing their mortality. Even with his fascination with elemental magic, Emirikol was unwilling to take that step, perhaps because he understood the risks and downsides better than anyone.
