The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is one of the largest churches in the United States and has members in most nations of the world. There are approximately 13.5 million members worldwide and approximately 120,000 members in Japan. Three congregations, Tsukuba, Ushiku, and Mito Wards, are located in Ibaraki prefecture. The church is led by a Prophet and 12 Apostles just as in previous generations of the world. Like other Christians, we believe the Bible to be the word of God. We also believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God as another witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon contains the history of the Christians on the American continent from the time of the tower of Babel to about 400 AD. It was written by the prophets who lived among them.
