Bob Skelton was a somewhat dense storeman at the Mark Brittain Warehouse who was both attracted to and puzzled by Irma Barlow when she served him in the Corner Shop. She put on a French accent and he fell for the joke but soon after she put on an Irish accent for his mate and working colleague Keith Mason. Spurred on in the joke by Ray Langton, the two men even started to believe that they were twin sisters! Irma’s prank failed though when the two men were in the shop, hearing the “French” Irma telling them of her famous brain surgeon father when Stan Ogden came in, telling her that her mum had cooked her favourite Hotpot for tea that night. She did however give Ray the idea of asking her to join him on a business lunch with Mel Ryan and to pose as his glamorous French girlfriend.
