About: Pandora (planet)   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

The fauna of Pandora is characterized by its almost universal aggression towards anything entering its' territory. Any intrusion near an animal's home is usually met with immediate attack. There are many forms of complex life; see for details. One common trait among the local fauna is that each species produces "elemental" variants. Some specimens breathe fire or manipulate electricity, while others can spit acid or even cause explosions. There are also a variety of plants on Pandora, although the local flora is sparse in many areas. One of the most common types are plants that resemble cacti, though many also resemble mushrooms.

It appears that in ancient times Pandora was inhabited by the Eridians, a highly evolved and equally mysterious race. Very little is known about this period in time, although their legacy remains in the form of strange ruins and deadly weaponry. In more recent times humanity has begun to colonize and harvest the planet for rare metals and other resources. There are only a handful of human settlements on the surface, most of them built from scrap metal and in desperate need of repair. As a result of using convict labor, most of Pandora's population seems to be psychotic, violent, or both.
