  • Stock Car was one of the Trial events that featured exclusively during the first series of Robot Wars as a test of speed and manoeuvrability. The five robots were lined up on the grid in order of their performance in the Gauntlet and had to complete three laps of the figure-of-eight course in the quickest possible time. The race ended when the first robot completed three laps and the robot that covered the least distance at that point would be eliminated from the competition. Each robot was placed on the track in the order in which they had completed the Gauntlet. This trial featured Sergeant Bash and Shunt on raised plinths in the arena with Shunt's axe mechanism being used as a chequered flag, when the winning robot crossed the line.

This Trial was only seen during the featherweight heat of the First Wars. Starting in their Gauntlet finishing positions: SAT'arn in first position, followed by Cunning Plan, Demolisher, Krayzee Tokyo and Bugs in fifth place, the race would be three laps around the course. Krayzee Tokyo actually jumped the start as SAT'arn, Cunning Plan and Demolisher all crashed into each other as they attempted to make the first corner, with Krayzee Tokyo crashing into Shunt's plinth. Demolisher then flew into the lead, nearly completing all three laps by the time that Cunning Plan had completed its first lap in second place. But suddenly, as it rounded the final bend, Demolisher clipped the inside of Sergeant Bash's plinth and tipped over onto its back as Cunning Plan completed its second lap. Krayzee Tokyo by this time was completely immobile, despite the team's desperate efforts to get it going again. Interestingly though, as it rounded the final corner, Cunning Plan attempted to get Demolisher back onto its wheels, but only really succeeded in pushing it against one of the plinths. Cunning Plan therefore crossed the line in first place, with Demolisher in second, SAT'arn in third, Bugs in fourth, and Krayzee Tokyo in last, not having completed a full lap.
