| - Ju'cal Baal (formerly Ju'cal Ventris) was born on Telos in 52 BBY to a Jedi mother and a nerf herder father. His mother was in the AgriCorps of the Jedi Order, sent to help the farmers and ranchers on Telos increase production while minimizing their impact on the environment. She met, fell in love with, and eventually married a young nerf herder who saved her life from a pack of wild cannoks. Together, they had two children, Ju'cal (52 BBY) and Uriah (48 BBY). The two boys would have been ranchers, like their father, until their homestead was attacked by members of the Mandalorian Death Watch, who believed they were harboring loyalists to Jaster Mereel. In the attack, both of Ju'cal's parents lost their lives and the boys were seperated. Ju'cal was found a day later by a group of Mandalorian warriors who were tracking the very people who destroyed the young boys' family. Having nowhere else to go, Ju'cal was taken by a younger warrior named Dajun Baal, who served as the squad medic. Given the surname Baal, Ju'cal was adopted as Dajun's son and trained as a Mandalorian. Ju'cal spent the next few years of his life learning how to be Mando from Dajun. Many evenings were spent in the dusty fields, where he learned everything from Mandalorian history to squad based tactics. However, the most important part of his training was with an old bolt-action slugthrower that Dajun used for hunting. When he finally moved on, Dajun joked that Ju'cal could nail a Mandallian Giant from their farm while blindfolded. Once Ju'cal had mastered the long rifle, Dajun introduced him to blasters, which he was able to master quickly due to his previous training. After that, for a while, Dajun did nothing but run Ju'cal through calisthenic workouts to get him used to being able to keep a quick pace up while being able to switch routines quickly. It was about that time that Dajun took Ju'cal offworld for their first dangerous game hunting trip. It wasn't a particularly dangerous trip, at least for Dajun and the man Ju'cal would become; just a few kath hounds on Dantooine. For Dajun, it was a simple stalk, but for Ju'cal, it was the ultimate test of everything he'd learned. They crept through the grassy plains for a day and a half before Dajun called for Ju'cal to set up his rifle. Acting as spotter, Dajun called out the alpha male of a pack nearly half a kilometer ahead of them. For Ju'cal, the moment before he pulled the trigger was the longest moment of his life, and it ended all too suddenly as Dajun called out "hit". The beast's head hangs above the firepit to this day. When Ju'cal turned thirteen, he was awarded with a set of handcrafted beskar'gam. It was here that Ju'cal swore his undying allegiance to the Mandalorian people. Over the next few years, Ju'cal participated in a more active setting within the Mandalorian war machine. He fought in a few battles against the Death Watch, killing over a dozen of them personally and claimed much honor in the name of his people. Around Ju'cal's nineteenth year, Mand'alor sent Ju'cal and a few other warriors to Dantooine to investigate reports of Death Watch sightings. Having nowhere else to go after the destruction of the Mandalorians, Ju'cal headed back to his adoptive father's homestead on Manda'yaim and hid for a few years while things settled for the Mandalorians. For the next few years, Sergeant Ju'cal became extremely involved with the GAR, seeking to secure assets for Mandalorians. While men like Kal Skirata and Walon Vau sought to free the clone soldiers for the oppression of the Republic, Ju'cal sought the rebirth of the Mandalorians. He occasionally lent assistance Skirata, whose goal of saving clones also helped the Mandalorians. While many of the Cuy'val Dar were content with their clones and left, Baal saw them as a way to get back at the Jedi for the death of his adoptive father on Galidraan. He also had an ulterior motive- Ju'cal learned that his brother was still alive and in service of the Jedi... a Knight no less. He had Skirata pull some strings to have a squad attached to Uriah to look after him and update Ju'cal on his situation. Uriah saw action with the Galactic Marines under Clone Commander Bacara. He remained on Mygeeto for the better part of a year near the end of the war. When the Supreme Chancellor gave to order for all Jedi to be hunted down and killed, Baal sprung into action. He made haste to link up with Commander Bacara and his commando squad. By the time Ju'cal got there, he recieved word that his squad, Reaper, was trapped aboard a ship as a rouge Jedi forced the other ships of the fleet to fire on it and send the vessel into the atmosphere, where it became a mountain of slag. Ju'cal was crushed... he spiraled down into a world of anger and loss. He fled to Manda'yaim, assuming the Jedi had been his brother. It would be five years before he left. Ju'cal took a bounty that led him to Alderaan. There, he met up with two other Mandalorians that were tracking the same target. They agreed to work together and split the earnings. When the finally found their mark, they realized it wasn't some enemy of the State, but a Jedi... and not any Jedi, but Ju'cal's brother. Ju'cal informed his party and they devised a plan to subdue the Jedi so that Ju'cal could relay the information. The reunion wasn't pretty... Ju'cal ended up knocking his brother unconscious and restraining him with Mandalorian manacles. When the man came to, Ju'cal told him everything. Of course the man didn't believe him at first, until he removed his helmet. The Mandalorian was a striking image of his father. Uriah finally gave in and allowed the men to take him away. Instead of taking the man back to Manda'yaim, they took him to the bounty poster to collect their reward, then killed the man to keep their secret safe. Ju'cal took it upon himself to train his brother, his vod'ika, in the art of Mandalorian warfare. It took three long years before Ju'cal believed Uriah was worthy of being accepted into the Mandalorian ranks. His success was marked with a huge celebration as a brother, once lost, was reborn a Mandalorian. As soon as Uriah's training was finished, he revealed that he had a personal mission to accomplish... to remove the Sith from power. Before Uriah left, he was presented with a suit of hand-made armor, a bes'kad, and a nerf-leather bag in memory of their true father. When Uriah left, both men were in full armor, so that the other would not see their tears. Ju'cal, knowing what his brother intended to do, realized he would probably die in the process. His last words to his brother were "Re'turcye mhi, ner vod."- maybe we'll meet again, my brother. That was decades ago, when Ju'cal was young. Now, he is an old man who fights across the universe because he knows nothing else. Over the years, he's trained armies, assassinated warlords, killed a fair share of Jedi, but has never married or fathered a child. His journies took him from one side of the Galaxy to the other and back, and in his time, he's seen hundreds of planets and more races than he can remember. Years ago, through his now long list of contacts, he learned of a war brewing in the Unknown Regions within the Chiss Ascendency, so he returned to the one place he knew he could find men to fight it, Mandalore. Eight years ago, Ju'cal met up with a former trainee of one of his long time friends, Kartin Fen. The warrior, Desev Vencu, agreed to fight, for a price of course. The pair quickly grew into a decent sized group of warriors, looking for work or adventure. By the time they'd set out, there were thirteen Mando'ade ready for war. Departing en masse in their individual ships, they headed out into the Unknown Regions, toward the Chiss Ascendency. They arrived soon thereafter on a planet not controlled by the Ascendency, but by a Chiss rebel group formed from the outcasts of the alien society. The thirteen warriors acted, initially, as army planners and advisers to the rebel group, but as the fighting ground on, the men were forced to take an active role in the fighting, taking heavy losses at first before adapting to the unfamiliar opponent. For five more years, the war ground on, wearing both sides down and reducing the rebel group to small bands of guerillas ambushing targets of opportunity. The enemy force, however continued its campaign against the Mandalorian led rebels, the war grinding to a stalemate. the rebels eventually called for a cease-fire and exiled themselves from sovereign Chiss space. After eight years of fighting, the Mandalorians packed their bags, collected their fees (which were considerable after so long) and left for Manda'yaim. Of the thirteen men and women that set out for the Unknown Regions, three made it back alive.
