Menas Maxius was governor of Apropus where he and his wife, Postera, presided over brutal gladiatorial games. Maxius is perhaps best-known for imprisoning Gladius for fifteen years and for making him fight any number of wild animals and other gladiators. Maxius was eventually sent into "voluntary" exile after Hercules and Gladius freed all his slaves.
