Daniel debuted in 2001, driving for Green Light Racing at his home track in Kansas. Starting 20th in the field of thirty-six, Daniel completed all but eight laps in the race to earn a very respectable 17th place finish. Daniel stepped it up to a six-race schedule during the 2002 season, running for a number of mediocre teams. He started the year off with a 27th place finish at Gateway driving for Troxell Motorsports. He then moved over to Team Chick Motorsports, actually running quite well for them. In four starts, Daniel only had one DNF and earned finishes of 19th and 21st in the pair of Texas races. Daniel's final race that year came at Fontana, driving to a 29th place finish for MacDonald Motorsports. Daniel's final four races all came during the 2003 season, when Daniel reunited with Team Chick. He ran extremely well with the poor equipment, earning three top-twenties. He was 19th in his return to Texas, a career-best 15th at Kentucky, and an 18th at Gateway. However, his career didn't end on a high note, as an early DNF at Michigan left Daniel 35th.
