The Sangekkō (三月光; Japanese for Three Moonbeams) are a special squad of Getsugakure shinobi, three in number. They are known to be the three most powerful ninja in the village, although Monsun has remarked that Josho Adashino may be more powerful than them, having come from outside the village. They surpass even the commander in chief of forces himself in skill, although they are still under his jurisdiction to an extent. They are kept separate from the rest of the village, residing in three caverns beneath the dense rock mountain that houses the last resort fortress of Getsugakure.
