| - Mindoir ist eine menschliche Kolonie, die, sollte man den Hintergrund „Kolonist“ gewählt haben, der Heimats- und Geburtsort von Shepard ist. Mindoir wurde im Jahr 2170 von batarianischen Sklavenhändlern angegriffen, wobei ein Großteil der Bevölkerung versklavt oder getötet wurde. Dieser Angriff war ein einschneidendes Ereignis in Shepards Leben und wohl einer der Gründe, weshalb er/sie sich der Allianz anschloss. Zusammen mit Talitha, einer ehemaligen Sklavin, ist Shepard eine/r der wenigen Überlebenden des batarianischen Überfalls. Auch der spätere C-Sec-Offizier Lang war zum Zeitpunkt des Angriff anwesend.
