Tyllin (or Friend of Eternity in Sarian) is the lone moon orbiting Caspar in the Caspian system. It is an airless, uninhabited rock with no immediately prevalent value. Its size and proximity to Caspar does contribute to the planet's tempestuous reputation for tidal events and storms. In 5 ABY, SubPro used the moon as a temporary construction base so as to improve the Victoria Drydocks which had been reclaimed from their time as an Imperial orbital repair slip.

  • Tyllin (or Friend of Eternity in Sarian) is the lone moon orbiting Caspar in the Caspian system. It is an airless, uninhabited rock with no immediately prevalent value. Its size and proximity to Caspar does contribute to the planet's tempestuous reputation for tidal events and storms. During the Immigrant Era, several explorations of Tyllin were conducted by surveyors and prospectors, looking for refineable materials. Trace amounts of ferric ores were found, but certainly not an amount worthy of investment. A few meager facilities were installed on the moon so as to employ and foster further research. Most of them went derelict as planet-side facilities on Caspar and Mergansar proved more lucrative. During the Imperial Occupation (19 BBY - 0 BBY), the moon was treated as a "hobby project", much like the drilling & mining platform over Kichnar (that would go on to become Kichnar Orbital Station). One post in particular was outfitted with full environmental controls, a docking bay, an industrial-grade smelter, and other apparatus for mining. Built into the side of an edifice, it was dubbed Centennial Outpost. The other facilities on the moon, though, would see use by those hiding material, or themselves, from the Imperial garrisons. After the departure of the Empire, interest in what Tyllin, and other locations around Caspia, held was reinvigorated by several metallurgical discoveries made during the Imperial occupation, but kept undisclosed. InterSpec would be established to further investigate these advances, and in late 4 ABY, the moon was found to have an extensive supply of raw oluminia, cuerterin, and tungren, all of which were promptly mined in earnest. This would play heavily into developments later as the new commonwealth government and CDMC would encourage and subsidize the use of these resources into building projects. In 5 ABY, SubPro used the moon as a temporary construction base so as to improve the Victoria Drydocks which had been reclaimed from their time as an Imperial orbital repair slip. During the second Imperial occupation, this time during the Caspian Annexation Campaign, Tyllin was put under a tremendous amount of scrutiny by the Imperial forces. Informants tipped off the Imperial staff that such facilities on Tyllin existed that had been used in prior years for that very purpose. Due to this, the moon was entirely cleared out of all miners, and each and every facility was not only shut down, but opened to space. About halfway through the three-month occupation, a squadron of MAD fighters tried to slip in and see if any resistance resources were on the "darkened" Tyllin. They documented evidence of the Imperial treachery, but were unable to convert Tyllin into a viable resource without being detected. They slipped away and returned to where they came from. After the war, the facilities were repaired and mining efforts recommenced. Today, Tyllin accounts for nearly seventy percent of the of the system's metallurgical output. Discussion is underway regarding expanding mining efforts to other resources, such as the Tudedythiceon Asteroid Belt.
