Brawnclan is a Mountain Man living in the Abyss. The Avatar found him in Ultima Underworld I in the second level of the Abyss, guarding the gate to the fortress of the Mountain-Folk. Brawnclan was somewhat surprised to see a peaceful human, saying that the Abyss had become very dangerous. Feeling that the Avatar looked trustworthy, he opened the gate to allow the hero entrance. Later, like the others, he was rescued by Garamon, when the volcano erupted.
