Muhammad Ali al-Jawf was an Arab scholar affiliated with the Museum of Islam in Baghdad, Iraq. In 1909, he visited Qom, where he examined a Persian manuscript of Nur ed-Din al-Musafir, which unlike other al-Musafir pieces, had a verse describing the Holy Grail. Knowing that his colleague Dr. Henry Jones would be interested, he sent a letter, dated November 14, to Jones with a translation of the verse about the Grail.
