The Dorvain General Election, 1842 was held on the 27th May 1842 to elect the Twelfth Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 125 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. The election saw a moderate swing from the Royalists to the Democrats, and the most prominent issue raised was tariffs, with the Royalists supporting free-trade whilst the Democrats sought protectionist policies.
