Edgar Victor Garton (1909-1983) was a Labour Party politician. A member of the Middlesex County Council, of which he was vice chairman in 1961. Following the abolition of the county council he stood for election to the successor Greater London Council (GLC), as a councillor for Enfield, but failed to win a seat. He was however appointed a member of the GLC, sitting as an alderman 1964 – 1970. He was chairman of the Fire Brigade Committee and then chief whip of the Labour group 1967-69.
