Growing up in a family with leftist leanings, Jack Sheridan was introduced to an array of political perspectives even as a boy. Jack Sheridan learned chess from his father and began participating in local tournaments by the age of 12. During his adolescence and throughout his life he was passionate about Civil Rights. The Sheridan home contained more than 3,000 books, which allowed Jack Sheridan to be an enthusiastic and eclectic reader. In 2550, Jack Sheridan entered the University of Hosamia to study law. While still a student in 2552, Jack Sheridan was forced to leave his law studies to work at a paper factory. Witnessing oppression and disenfranchisement, Jack Sheridan began to view armed revolution as the solution to social inequality and joined the All-Workers' Union, where he become friends with other revolutionaries. One of them was Sarah Jackson, who was well-connected politically as a former member of the Collective Labour-Farmer-Socialist (CLFS), and introduced Jack Sheridan to a number of high-level members of the [S.R.F.] Republikka Sozialiste. In 2559 Jack Sheridan married Christine Andrews, a music teacher at Port Saint-John High School. They had a daughter Joan Sheridan and later a son Michael Sheridan, who both became PN politicians. Through Joan, he is grandfather of Daniel Connor. From 2557 to 2577 Jack Sheridan worked politically within the [S.R.F.] Republikka Sozialiste, first as provincial leader of the All-Workers' Union in Hosamia and then as a member of the [S.R.F.] Republikka Sozialiste Executive Council. In 2577, Jack Sheridan was one of the key architects of the People's National when he established contact with the Mordusian Labour Congress (MLC) and the National Alliance of Farmers (NAF). While performing his tasks as the 1st leader of the federal PN, he died of cancer in 2580 at the age of 51. He was successed by Jessica Anderson.
