Several days into its first mission, the crew of Yamato, after getting caught in the intensive gravity of the gas giant, found the floating continent and landed on It for repairs. After fending off a Gamilas attack and lifting off, Admiral Juzo Okita ordered Yamato to turn around and test fire its wave motion gun at the base.
