The United States Forces – Pacific, commonly abbreviated to USFOPA, is the official name of one of two military forces fielded by the provisional government of the United States; the other being the United States Forces – Atlantic. As its name implies, the Pacific Forces are active across the Pacific Ocean region and are mainly tasked with safe-guarding government interests in the former Pacific States, although ex- and incursions to places as far-flung as Australia and mainland Asia have become the norm rather than the exception in recent years.
