Full Sutton is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately east of the village of Stamford Bridge. According to the 2011 UK census, Full Sutton parish had a population of 1,072, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 977. Located at Full Sutton is a high security prison, HMP Full Sutton. The place was recorded in the Domesday Book as Sudtone, meaning "south settlement". The prefix, first recorded in the 13th century, means "dirty", from the Old English fūl.
