The sport of Quidditch has always been a thriving addition to the Hogwarts Curriculum and social callendar with games running throughout the winter, and training and tryouts almost immediately into the school year. With every team comes a captain, chosen for their skill and leadership, the captains run their teams for a full year. They conduct the tryouts, choose the sides as well as conduct the training sessions upon approval of the groundskeeper and flight instructor. They also communicate any discrepencies with the Hogwarts umpire. The posiiton of captain is a prestigious honour and as such their names are engraved in the Trophy Gallery.
