Tenet is the favourite game of Princess Nemset, daughter of Horari, XXIV King of Djarat. The game is played on a kind of chessboard with 5 by 10 boxes and the opposite players control 5 tokens each (five white for one player and five black for the other player, white moves first), lined up at the short ends of the chessboard. The aim of the game is to reach the other end of the chessboard with one of your tokens. Each player in turn can move forward a token by one or two boxes. If a token is blocked by an opposing token and can't move forward anymore, then it can move one step sideways (but never backward). The strategy is all about trapping the opponent's tokens, preventing any movement, while still having one "free" token to reach the other side of the chessboard.
