A vibroclaw was a retractable vibroblade that could be fastened to the back of the wrist. It was rare to find one vibroclaw used at a time, as a Knuckle plate vibroblade was much more effective in that category. However, when used with two to four other vibroclaws (for a total of three to five), the vibroclaws became an extremely lethal weapon.

  • A vibroclaw was a retractable vibroblade that could be fastened to the back of the wrist. It was rare to find one vibroclaw used at a time, as a Knuckle plate vibroblade was much more effective in that category. However, when used with two to four other vibroclaws (for a total of three to five), the vibroclaws became an extremely lethal weapon. Vibroclaws locked when they reached their full extension and needed to be manually disengaged by the user. Some models had automatic retractions activated by the flip of a switch, which enabled the owner to focus on his surroundings instead of concentrating on retracting his claws. The weapons also had a magnetic lock that kept them shut, although a strong flick of the wrist could disengate the lock. These weapons could also be used as climbing claws, much like the claws of Wookiees. When deactivated, if kept in good condition, the vibroclaws were perfect climbing aids, providing a solid handhold where no handholds can be found. Cases have been reported of sentients using only the claws to scale walls, but climbing this way requires exceptional upper body strength.
