  • DV8 ( sometimes spelt Dv8) is a team of supervillains/antiheroes in the WildStorm Universe and were recurring enemies of Gen13.
  • dv8 was an arts and cultural paper published in Belfast from 1992 to 1996 by Peter Johnston. Its editor was Stephen McKee. It included the photostrip Orangeman by the Hole in the Wall Gang, the comic strip response Catholic Lad by Malachy Coney and Seán Doran, some of Coney and Doran's Major Power and Spunky strips, and strips by Davy Francis, including "A Short History of Northern Irish Comics". The Guardian called it "the most innovative journal of youth culture in Ireland". Shortly after the IRA ceasefire in 1996 it published a green, white and orange Union Jack on the cover, and received threats from paramilitary groups. Not long after that the magazine closed.
  • The series lasted 32 issues, and was a best seller, until later issues in the second half lagged in sales. Because of this, Wildstorm cancelled DV8, but allowed the creative team to bring a proper end to the comic, instead of ending the comic and leaving many questions unanswered. The story of most DV8 members continued in the pages of Gen-Active, an anthology-series featuring various Wildstorm characters. Gen-Active lasted 6 issues.
