- Harrowdale, is the name given to the deep north-south valley cut out of the White Mountains by the Snowbourn river. At its southern end, beneath the mountain known as the Starkhorn, stood Dunharrow, a great refuge of the Rohirrim. At its northern end, where the Snowbourn issued onto the plains of Rohan, stood that nation's capital, Edoras.
- Harrowdale was originally known as Velarsdale, after its founder. At some point before the 1180s DR, under the rule of Orimmon, it was renamed to Harrowdale and then, by Elmaer Oraun, back to Velarsdale. When ruled by Halvan the Dark in the 1180s DR, he renamed it to Halvan's Dale, but it was changed back to Harrowdale after the fall of Halvan.
- Harrowdale – dolina Śnieżnego Potoku w Rohanie, położona nieco na południe od Edoras, u stóp północnych masywów Gór Białych. Władzę administracyjną nad doliną, jak i pozostałymi Ziemiami Królewskimi, sprawował Pierwszy Marszałek Marchii.
