- They were a particularly powerful alliance that was one of the major forces behind the founding of the Triadic church, and their splinter group, the Triadic Knights. Several crusades were launched over the course of history in their name. They resided on a celestial plane called the House of the Triad.
- The Triad (三鬼衆, Sankishū, lit. Three Ogre Mob) was the elite fighting unit of the Toguro Brothers' Apparition Gang.
- The Triad was a secretive Sith organization that was formed after the Battle of Endor and the decline of Emperor Palpatine's Galactic Empire. As the name implied, there were only three members in the group: Tharsa Vol was one of their number. The group consisted of dark side practitioners that worked together to further their interests and in a common cause.
- The Triad was a criminal organization that has embedded itself deep within the infrastructure of the galaxy. Its power in relation to other organizations, such as Black Sun, was unknown, but it had been known to survive several attempts on its destruction over the decades it was known to exist. Founded by an individual known only as the Illusive Man, The Triad was a black ops organization that was formerly part of the Republic military, but which went rogue following Emperor Palpatine's c'oup. They were also described as a pro-Republic terrorist or paramilitary group, due to their activities.
- The Triad was the most powerful collective of upper-level demons. Initially appearing to be loyal to the Source of All Evil, they were considered to be the leaders of the Underworld after his vanquishment. The Triad has been responsible for most of the attacks on the Charmed Ones. Given their large behind-the-scenes presence in events, they can be considered the series' primary antagonists.

They first became known to the Charmed Ones in 2000, but were killed by Cole Turner soon after when he turned on them. They then returned five years later as the demons Asmodeus, Baliel and Candor, who were vanquished by the Charmed Ones twice.
- The Triad is a group of three assassins that work for the World Government. They are called upon to quickly eliminate threats against justice. They have yet to ever fail a mission.
Regardless of these labels, the Triad did not operate as the Rebellion did, nor as a pro-Republic organization. Following what its leader described merely as equilibrium, the Triad believed that the galaxy deserved better than what it was experiencing, and that the powers-that-be were too hamstrung by laws and public opinion to be allowed to dominate the course of the galaxy. Any methods of advancing their own agendas were justified, including illegal or dangerous experimentation, terrorist activities, sabotage and assassination. Triad operatives accepted that these methods were brutal, but believed history would vindicate them. The Triad embedded itself into various heirarchial structures throughout the entire galaxy. It seemed as though they existed everywhere. Confirmed reports associated them with at least five companies and three distinctive locations galaxy-wide, but investigations always turned up with dead ends.
