Due to her experience on the job, she believes that Will and her friends know something about Elyon's family's disappearance that they are not sharing and has decided to keep an eye on them; For example Agents Medina and McTiennan held a stakeout at Cornelia's house. Will, trying to smuggle Cornelia away, brought along a disguised Vathek, and an Astral Drop of Matt Olsen's grandfather who barely knew how to drive. The Astral Drop asked Big Guy and Small Fry how to 'drive stick', ad a diversion while Cornelia sneaked into the van with Will. As Matt's 'grandfather' drove away, the back of the van flew open revealing Cornelia and Vathek for just a moment. Medina ordered McTiennan to follow, but their own car wouldn't start. Mctiennan opened the hood to find what looked like vines wrapped all around the engine, courtesy of Cornelia and a little plant growing out of the asphalt directly under the car. Later at Irma's house Maria Medina tried to talk to her, but was stunned to see two Irmas, one being the real Irma, the other being the Altermere which took the form of the Guardian of Water. Medina dismissed the confusing sight, saying she might be working too hard.
