The 2011 Bahrain Grand Prix (officially the 2011 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix) was scheduled to be the opening race for the 2011 Formula One Season, but was cancelled due to civil unrest in the country, since Bahrain was involved in the Arab Spring revolutions. The situation was such that it was considered to be too dangerous to hold the event. Later, the event was rescheduled but ultimately it did not take place. __TOC__
