The weird hissing sound comes out of the helmet, and the man moves through time 10 years into the future of 1974. People are panicking to find shelter from atomic bombs. He offers a man money for the man's place in the bomb shelter, but the man refuses him. Instead, he offers to take the helmet in exchange. The robber agrees, and the man who acquires Dr. Savage's Helmet moves forward 10 years to 1984. The survivors of the nuclear war are little more than walking corpses, ravaged by radiation poisoning. One of them stab the man with a knife. The man is eaten by the dying victims of the nuclear war. One of them takes the helmet, setting it at 1,000. The man travels 1,000 years into the future. There, he encounters a group of primitive people resembling Neanderthals. The neanderthals capture him, placing him in a cage as a relic of the past. He is still wearing the helmet, and the neanderthal's get a glimpse of a prehistoric man.
