Rayna Kapec was an android built by Flint, an immortal who had wandered the Earth in various personae such as Brahms and Leonardo da Vinci, to be a companion for him. When the USS Enterprise visited Holberg 917G looking for the cure to a plague that had infected the crew, Flint introduced Rayna as his legal ward. Captain Kirk and Rayna became attracted to each other, which at first Flint was happy about. He hoped that this would provide the final step in her creation, stirring her emotions. Während des Aufenthaltes auf diesem Planeten trifft Captain Kirk wenig später Flint, der Rayna Kapec schließlich als seine Tochter vorstellt. Nach einer Weile entwickelt sich zwischen Kirk und Rayna eine gewisse Zuneigung füreinander, was Flint mit Freude sieht, da er insgeheim darauf hofft, dass seine Gefährtin durch dieses Erlebnis echte Gefühle entwickeln würde. Doch nach einer Weile entwickelt Flint eine Eifersucht auf beide. Als Kirk sich wenig später im Wohnsitz Flints etwas genauer umsieht, entdeckt er einen geheimen Raum, in dem mehrere Duplikate von Rayna liegen. Dadurch wird Raynas wahre Identität schließlich aufgedeckt. Währenddessen kämpft Rayna mit ihrem intensiven emotionalen Erlebnis, was sie schließlich nicht verarbeiten kann. Als Folge daraus stellen ihre Schaltkreise die Funktion ein und sie stirbt. (TOS: ) Rayna Kapec wurde von Louise Sorel gespielt und von Sabine Sinjen und Ursula Hugo (neue Szenen) synchronisiert.
