- Potions of Booze are exactly what the name implies - easy ways to get drunk. Cursed potions of booze — orcish glibber — causes non-orcish PCs to temporarily go blind instead when drunk.
- A non-blessed potion of booze will make you confused for 3d8 turns. ("Ooph! This tastes like liquid fire!") It will also provide some nutrition and abuse your wisdom. (10 nutrition if cursed, 20 if uncursed, 30 if blessed, regardless of dilution.) If the potion is cursed, it will make you pass out for up to 15 turns. If the potion is not diluted, it will also heal 1hp. A blessed potion of booze will not cause confusion. Samurai will see this as a potion of sake. Dipping an amethyst into a potion of booze will turn the potion into a potion of fruit juice.

Desirability
| - Potions of Booze have two main uses:
*Swapping with Yggaz in return for a random Potion, and
*Pouring over wands to recharge them.
Those two factors make Potions of Booze extremely useful to keep around.
- Potions of Booze have three main uses:
*Giving to Yggaz in return for a random Potion,
*Dipping Wands into them to get additional charges,
and, well, getting the character drunk.
Of these, the wand recharging property is by far the most desirable trait of the potion, especially for non-spellcasting characters, as they can make much more use of wands of teleportation or wands of magic missiles or any useful wand in this manner. Even a spellcaster will definitely benefit from keeping booze around to fuel a wand of paralyzation or other wands carrying powers the spells known cannot duplicate.

Potions of booze are sometimes used in conjunction with the Scroll of gold detection on the Elemental planes to detect magical portals, but note that this is only useful with uncursed potions, since the desired effect is confusion. Samurai will see this as a potion of sake. Dipping an amethyst into a potion of booze will turn the potion into a potion of fruit juice. Some players take an ice box filled with potions of booze when ascending, in preparation for the Demigod bar. Quaffing a potion of booze does not violate foodless conduct. Foodless players often horde potions of booze, or alchemize them along the path junk >> water >> sickness >> fruit juice >> booze >> blessed booze. Foodless runs supplemented by potions of booze are not recommended in real life. In medieval Europe, the craft of beer brewing was greatly advanced by monks who had to survive long fasting periods.
