  • Josh Weinstein (born May 5, 1966) is an American Television Writer and Producer, known for his work on The Simpsons.
  • From 1999 to 2000, Weinstein was a writer and executive producer on the cult-favorite NBC series "Freaks and Geeks" which was created by Paul Feig and executive produced by Judd Apatow. The show also featured Trace Beaulieu and Joel Hodgson in supporting roles. In fall of 2014, Weinstein appeared in the music video comedy short The Frank along with other MST3k members. It was made available exclusively for DVD. In the same year, he reprised Tom Servo in the Turkey Day '14 marathon and the concurrently released Turkey Day DVD collection.
  • Like many Simpsons writers, his name has been used in the show's dialogue. Principal Skinner once told an angry Superintendent Chalmers that "I know Weinstein's parents were upset, but it sounded so made-up. I mean, Yom Kippur...." Weinstein attended Stanford University, where he was editor of the Stanford Chaparral.
  • Josh "J. Elvis" Weinstein is a Cinematic Titanic writer and cast member who began his standup career in Minneapolis at the age of 15. Two years later, he became one of the founding writers/performers of Mystery Science Theater 3000, playing Dr. Laurence Erhardt and the original voice of Tom Servo. He changed his professional name from "Josh" to "J. Elvis" to avoid confusion with former Simpsons writer Josh Weinstein. The two are frequently confused nonetheless.
  • Josh Weinstein is Ari Gold's former assistant turned up and coming Hollywood agent. He is portrayed by Joshua LeBar. Josh currently works at Triad, a competing agency, and constantly tries to lure Vincent Chase away from Ari. Josh was the first to introduce Vince and E to the script of Queens Boulevard and setting Vince on the fast track to becoming an indie star. Josh was also the first person to drop the info that "the whale" James Cameron would be directing Aquaman, and also informed Vince and E that producer Scott Wick had made an offer to Vince for Queens Boulevard.

Josh was also the first person to drop the info that "the whale" James Cameron would be directing Aquaman, and also informed Vince and E that producer Scott Wick had made an offer to Vince for Queens Boulevard. In Season 4 he is representing Heath Ledger, who is currently being offered a part in a movie that Vince wants. Ari tricks him into thinking the movie is another 'Brokeback', so he will talk Heath out of the part. And their feud seems to end officially in Season 4 during that time.

He has also been the head writer for America's Funniest Home Videos and NBC's late night show Later with Greg Kinnear. Weinstein has an extensive background in stand-up comedy; he has performed over a thousand shows as a stand-up comedian, and has also written material for Garry Shandling, Dennis Miller, Roseanne Barr, Louie Anderson and other comedians.
