Amara's Athenaeum was a network of repositories around the galaxy, which contained information and artifacts collected by Amara over the course of the Shard's almost thirty millennia of life. There were many repositories scattered around the galaxy, and they contained holocrons with knowledge and information dating as far back as 250,000 BBY. These repositories also held many artifacts, from technology left by the Infinite Empire to relics of the True Sith, and many artifacts from the Sith and Jedi Orders as well. The athenaeum was considered by several Grand Masters of the Jedi Order to be the most valuable font of knowledge about the Force ever known.

The athenaeum was considered by several Grand Masters of the Jedi Order to be the most valuable font of knowledge about the Force ever known. Though several Sith Lords and Jedi Masters knew of the locations of individual repositories, only Amara knew the location of every repository within the network. Upon the disappearance of Amara in 20 BBY and the following Great Jedi Purge, almost all knowledge of the existence of the athenaeum was lost to the galaxy.
