The Shrine of the Sacred Emperors was a sect of the Brotherhood of Shinsei devoted to the Emperors of Rokugan. Radiance, a paean of gratitude and admiration for the First Hantei, and Resplendence, venerating the second Emperor Hantei Genji, were the founding texts of the order. It was officially recognized during the reign of Hantei Bosai, the fourth Hantei. They had main shrine outside Otosan Uchi and a major monastery near Kyuden Ikoma. The monks produced masterworks of the lives of the Emperors, always framed in a positive way, and only when they had died. The order had heated discussions about the events of the 12th century, when three different Imperial dynasties were seen in less than half a century.
