HMS Hunter was a 10-gun brig of the Royal Navy. She was launched in 1812 and served on the Canadian Lakes during the War of 1812. Shortly after entering service she covered the British attack on Fort Shelby. She was part of a squadron under Commander Robert Heriot Barclay on Lake Erie in 1813 and took part in the Battle of Lake Erie. She was captured along with the rest of Barclay's squadron during the battle. The wreck of the Hunter was discovered in 2001 under the sand on the beach in Southampton, Ontario.
