Louis Burton (Bert) Lindley, Jr. a.k.a.Slim Pickens (June 29, 1919-December 8, 1983) was an American Rodeo performer and film and TV actor who was famous for Dr. Strangelove as Major T. J. King Kong and Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles as Taggart. He's famous for his tough cowboy impersonation. He also played in Disney movies: The Great Locomotive Chase as Pete Bracken, Tonka as Ace, Never a Dull Moment as Cowboy Schaffer, The Apple Dumpling Gang as Frank Stillwell, and famously The Black Hole as the voice of Old B.O.B.. He also played Old Bill Williams in Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color.
