Giovanni Spinelli was an Italian man who enjoyed collecting small artifact reproductions and sketching Egypt's monuments. He was found dead in his room at the Shepheard's Hotel in Cairo by friends after he was mistakenly sold a genuine ancient Egyptian papyrus.
