The Houseboat is the boat in which Sea Captain lives. Upon completion he is unlocked. It costs 15000 cash. The Houseboat is the second decoration to produce income, after Lemon Tree, and one of the few to unlock an actual character. It can only be placed on Ocean tiles, not on rivers. __TOC__

- Do you like the water? Do you want to live very near it? Like other home structures, houseboats can be bought or rented. Space on most houseboats is fairly limited. So the appliances and storage tend to be compact, and some furniture will do "double duty". Compact houses and mobile homes have some of the same issues with limited space. Houseboats can vary quite a bit in size -- from a small boat to a large yacht.
- The Houseboat is Captain Flint's summer residence on the Lake. A retired steamer, a little passenger launch, carrying visitors to and fro on the lake (WH13), she has blue sides, a large cabin with separate galley, foredeck and after-deck, a rope ladder and a permanent mooring chain and buoy. She is moored in Houseboat Bay. Flag: Siamese elephant
- An important component of said houseboats is the new houseboat control port. This port, similar to the mailbox and dustbin, is automatically given to you and can be placed anywhere, but not duplicated or deleted. This control port is very important as this is the only way in which you can move your houseboat. To move your houseboat, simply click on the control port and choose "Move Houseboat". You will then be taken to Map View, where you can click the point of interest that you'd like to visit (provided it's in the water).

If your Sim has to work, he or she will teleport to the carpool outside your dock because carpools are land vehicles.

Mr Jackson says they do say he’s got things in the houseboat worth a fortune (SA5), and Young Billy tells the Swallows to warn Captain Flint that Down in the pub at Bigland yonder there was a deal too much talk going about that houseboat and what he has in it (SA13), Flag: Siamese elephant
