Vizh-veezh (singular vizh-vizh) were small mammals native to Iomis in the Unknown Regions. The herbivorous vizh-vizh had black fur and skin, which occasionally made it stand out against the bright metallic colors of large swaths of Iomis's surface. As a result, most vizh-veezh remained in forests or areas with darker mineral deposits, such as dark quartz and onyx. Vizh-veezh had six legs with grasping claws which enabled them to firmly seize small toeholds in the terrain to propel themselves forward, and four antennae which were sensitive to changes in light, and could therefore detect airborne predators descending from above, allowing vizh-veezh to make split-second changes of direction and avoid being caught.

A Brave Little Vizh-Vizh was a common Kasci bedtime story.
