Shaw's other serial credits include Zorro's Fighting Legion (1939, as the chief justice), Mysterious Doctor Satan (1940, as Professor Scott), Dick Tracy vs. Crime Inc. (1941, as Dr. Tanner), Holt of the Secret Service (1941, as Chief Malloy), and Perils of the Royal Mounted (1942, as Commissioner Phillips). Outside of serials, he played small roles in Ronald Colman's 1935 Tale of Two Cities and other high-profile films, and more substantial supporting roles, as either suspect or secondary investigator, in such standard mystery flicks as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Mr. Moto's Last Warning (both 1939) and Charlie Chan's Murder Cruise (1940).
