| - Second Lieutenant Ross Lesniak was a Systems Alliance Marine, and an N7 graduate. Originally a Corporal in the 144th Marine Infantry Division, Lesniak was recommended for the Interplanetary Combatives Training program by N7 marine Damian Collins in 2185, after he saved his squad from an attack by Geth remnant forces on the colony of Junides. After journeying to Brazil on Earth, he began his training, eventually receiving the N1 designation. Over the course of the next year, he rose in rank until reaching N6 in early 2186, where he was placed in charge of a team of N6 operatives in order to gain the live combat experience needed for the N7 designation. While stationed on the cutter SSV Douglass P. Johnson above the colony of New Halifax, they were alerted to the approach of a dozen unknown contacts coming through the nearby Zeta-Kappa-23 Relay, located in the closest star system. Confirming that the IFF tags were neither Alliance nor any other known species, the Douglass P. Johnson went on high alert, shortly after, several Reaper dropships descended on the planet. Deploying with the rest of his team, they made contact with Colonel Allen Mcnab, commanding officer of the 2nd New Haligonian Infantry Regiment, one of the planet's army units. They alerted the colonial governor, who then instituted a draft, calling on all civilians with arms and armor which, thanks to a weapons plant located on the planet, was in no short supply. Lesniak and his team assisted both military and militia units hold back the Reapers and evacuate the civilians who couldn't fight. Three days into the battle, the Reapers diverted several Destroyers to the planet to crush the resistance on the world. When they made planetfall, the governor ordered a final evacuation of all military and militia personnel. Filling up every available civilian vessel, 2,000 people were still left on the planet and forced to hold out until reinforcements could arrive and evacuate them. Following the evacuation, Ross and his team were taken back to Earth, where they all received the N7 designation and reassigned to combat the Reaper threat. It was at this point in time the Reapers began landing on Earth. Forcing to evacuate the complex, Lesniak and his team grabbed everyone they could and managed to reach the Douglass P. Johnson just in time, barely managing to break orbit and flee the system. For the remainder of the war, Ross and his team participated in hit-and-run attacks against Reaper forces, assisting whatever ground forces they could find, Human or otherwise. Right before the final battle above Earth, Ross returned to New Halifax to search for survivors, where he found nine hundred military and militia survivors. Taking this new force of battle hardened troops to Earth, he participated in the last battle, but was not present during Commander Shepard's push to the Crucible.
