Adolf Hitler (20 April 1889 – 5 September 1942) was an Austrian-born German politician and the leader of the Nazi Party. He was the ruler of Germany from 1933 to 1940, serving as Chancellor from 1933 to 1940 and as head of state from 1934 to 1940. A veteran of World War I, Hitler joined the Nazi Party in 1920, and became its leader in 1921. Hitler was captured on the 9th of May, 1940, and Germany was Split. Hitler was tried at the Old_Bailey_Court in London for mass murder and genocide. He was sentenced to death by hanging, which took place on 5 September 1942.
