Otoh Mandassa was a city built by the amphibian Gungan race in the swamps on the planet Naboo. In 32 BBY, Naboo was invaded by the Trade Federation, a galactic corporation, and their droid army, forcing the Gungans into a retreat from their cities to locations such as the sacred place. After an alliance was made between the Gungans and Naboo's Human population, the Gungans assembled their Grand Army on the Great Grass Plains outside the Human city of Theed to combat the Trade Federation. Otoh Mandassa was one of the many cities that contributed forces the army and fought the Trade Federation alongside Gungans from many other cities such as Otoh Gunga, Oxon City and Umberbool City. The Gungans were nearly defeated at the battle, but were victorious due to the droid army shutting down after
