Lon Menefee (b. c. 1916) was a lieutenant in the United States Navy. He replaced Myron Zwilling as the executive officer aboard the USS Josephus Daniels, serving under Sam Carsten. Unlike Zwilling, Menefee was a likeable officer, bearing no ill-will toward Carsten or the crew. Menefee arrived on the Josephus Daniels in the South Atlantic. He had a solid build, topped with a round face and dark whiskers. He earned a purple heart when a Japanese dive bomber hit his destroyer near Kauai and he took a fragment in his leg.
