  • Tralarn Zakar was leader of Wraith Squadron aboard HIMS Tormentor in early 11 ABY. Tralarn Zakar was born in to an extremely pro-Imperial family. His father was a gunnery officer aboard HIMS Instigator and from a very young age Tralarn idolized him for his position. Often would he hear stories of his father's exploits in assisting to crush the Rebellion and he loved telling these stories to his friends. During his youth, Tralarn built many model vessels, his fascination with the grace and beauty of Imperial vessels unending. During his childhood he constructed a Victory-class Star Destroyer model (which he keeps on his assignment vessels) and a variety of others until he had built, by hand, just about every class of ship in the Imperial fleet. His work was oftentimes praised by his father, who encouraged his son's fascination with the Navy. Tralarn's first experience with flying was at age twelve, when his father took him to a neighboring planet to meet an old teacher who would instruct him in naval warships. From this first experience aboard an old cargo shuttle, sitting behind the pilot, Tralarn was mesmerized by the finesse of the art of piloting. Soon he began to seek out ways to get behind the controls of a ship himself and to do as all great pilots did: fly. He very much enjoyed the lessons with his teacher, a retired Captain of the Navy hoping to train and encourage hopefuls, named Travius Velek. Travius taught Tralarn all about military procedure. He also taught him about starship repair, something Tralarn would later go on to study more about. Tralarn's father died before he was able to see his son enlist in the Academy. He was killed at his post during the Battle of Endor. From both the death of his father and Palpatine, the teenage Tralarn, driven mostly by hatred, developed a deep set will to crush the Rebellion and make them pay for their crimes. He enlisted with the Imperial Navy soon after. The Empire, desperate for recruits, readily accepted the eager Tralarn and sent him to the Naval Academy on OS Guardian. While maintaining a passion for starship repair, Tralarn initially studied capital ship navigation. A shortage of TIE pilots, however, forced Tralarn's hand into ultimately becoming a TIE pilot. It is by that that Tralarn graduated from the Academy and received his first assignment aboard HIMS Tormentor in Wraith Squadron. After a year of steady performance, fate played its hand: Wraith leader was killed in combat, leaving an opening that Tralarn was promoted into. Tralarn was not transferred to HIMS Conqueror with Wraith Squadron during a refit of the Imperial Navy.
