Normally, when looking at stuff in Second Life, you are seeing things from the perspective of your avatar. Which is usually just fine. But sometimes you may need to look at something from a different perspective. To do that, you need to activate the In-world camera. That is done by going to View on the main menu and clicking on Camera Controls. You should get a floating panel with two circles with four arrows in them. The cirle on the right allows you to move the camera up, down, left and right. The left circle allows you to turn the camera around.
