Mineral turpentine is a very old remedy for removing insects from the skin. It used to be used to detach ticks. The higher level equivalent is petrol. How it works: Douse the skin around a mite burrow with mineral turpentine. Wait two to three minutes. Rinse the mineral turpentine off with water. Wash the mineral turpentine off with soap. Repeat until the smell is gone. This is how they used to do it. This should not be required in this day and age.
