Over the next three years he was given several opportunities with the Nordiques, but was unable to match his previous numbers. The Detroit Red Wings accquired him in 1984 but Aubry had no more luck with them. He moved to Europe in 1987 and finished off his career in France, Switzerland, and Italy and retired in 1992. Aubry played 202 career NHL games, scoring twenty four goals and twenty six assists for fifty points. He also played twenty career playoff games, scoring one goal and one assist. He was the coach of the Victoriaville Tigres from 1991 to 1993 and the Val-d'Or Foreurs from 1993 to 1995.
