Eric Motz was a sciences division crewman serving aboard the USS Pegasus in 2358. He was one of seventy-one crewmembers killed during the illegal testing of an experimental phasing cloaking device during that year. Twelve years later, Commander William T. Riker, one of the survivors of the Pegasus, began reminiscing about his former crewmates subsequent to a reunion with Erik Pressman, the Pegasus's former commanding officer, and accessed Motz's personnel file.
