Goulbourn Township Fire Department (GFD) provided emergency fire service to the town of Goulbourn, until amalgamation. The Goulbourn Township included, what is now: Stittsville, Richmond, Munster, Ashton, and a small part of Kanata-West. The GFD was completely volunteer operated, and used the firehouse siren to alert the volunteers for an emergency. When the new Station 1 was built, they switched over to voice paging. Station 1 was headquarters, with dispatch operating out of Station 1 as well.
